Motorcycle Accident News

Sad news hit the internet on October 17, 2012 when the Sun reported a collision in Pasadena between a motorcycle and a Ford Escort.  The driver of the motorcycle, Mr. James Lloyd Geiser of Glen Burnie, suffered life-threatening injuries.  The driver of the Escort was not injured.

The Sun reported that Mr. Geiser was driving his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, when he attempted to turn left and was struck by the Escort.  He remains hospitalized in critical condition at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.  Our thoughts and well wishes go out to Mr. Geiser and his family.

The fact that the driver of the motorcycle sustained life-threatening injuries is not surprising.  Statistics show that motorcycle drivers are 35 times more likely to experience a deadly accident on the road than those in passenger cars.  Eleven percent of all roadway accidents that occur in the United States involve motorcycles.

A person who was injured in a motorcycle accident may be able to pursue a personal injury lawsuit, especially if the accident could have been reasonably prevented or was caused by the negligence of another driver.

Since every case is fact-specific, you should consult with an experienced personal injury attorney to evaluate the facts related to your case and help you choose the right course of action.
