Pedestrian Fatally Injured after Being Hit by an Out-of-Control Driver

by Monty Yolles on February 14, 2013

Jane W. Ndungu Maranga, a 53-year-old Calverton, Maryland woman, was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero in the Orchard Center shopping center when she lost control of her vehicle. She then drove over a curb and across the grass, finally colliding with 54-year-old Georgina Afful-Asare. Asare had been walking along the sidewalk on Broadbirch Drive and Cherry Hill Road.

Asare was rushed to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center where she died due to her injuries. The driver of the vehicle was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Montgomery County authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash and asking anyone with information about the collision to contact them immediately.

If you or a loved one has been injured due to the negligent and reckless acts of another, you may be entitled to collect monetary damages. Contact an experienced Maryland personal injury lawyer to review your case.
