Recent Accidents in Maryland

Shorter days, nasty weather, and added distractions during the holidays can have devastating consequences on the road.  In what may be described as nothing less than a miracle, a Maryland woman recently survived being pinned between two vehicles. Witnesses told police the woman had been involved in an earlier accident, and while she and the other driver waited on the shoulder for police, a third vehicle slammed into one of the wrecked vehicles pinning the woman between the two.

The news was not so good, however, for the family of Ruchita Pandya, of Owings Mills. While travelling east on Route 140, Pandya’s car was struck when another vehicle crossed the center line.  The impact caused a chain reaction, and Pandya’s vehicle then collided with a third vehicle before overturning and coming to a rest on the shoulder.  The other drivers were not seriously injured, but our thoughts are with Ms. Pandya’s family during this difficult time.

With the Christmas holiday season upon us and our schedules becoming more and more hectic with each passing day; be sure to keep a wary eye on other drivers whose full attention may not be on the road.

A person who was injured in a car accident may be able to pursue a personal injury lawsuit, especially if the accident could have been reasonably prevented or was caused by the negligence of another driver.
